Yahoo! India appoints Sonya Banerjee as Marketing Head

Yahoo! India on Monday announced the appointment of Sonya Banerjee as Head-Marketing. She will take charge of her new responsibilities with immediate effect. This is a new profile created to oversee Yahoo! India’s expansion plans.

Banerjee comes with over 10 years of experience in media marketing in India, having worked with leading advertising agencies like Trikaya Grey Grey Worldwide and HTA –Fulcrum as well as with Onida (MIRC Electronics).

She has a rich experience in analytics, data and research for major international brands, during her stint with advertising agencies. Banerjee brings to the table local and regional consumer insights of Indians, which should be of great value as Yahoo! India plans to increase both the reach and engagement of its products with online and mobile users across India who come from diverse cultures and background.

Banerjee also has an impeccable track record in the Indian media and advertising fraternity in India. She has also been a flag bearer of CSR initiatives (Corporate Social Responsibility) and has spent a good amount of time studying and working to bring about greater awareness amongst corporates in India.
