With Kaustav Das joining as VP-South, TBWA plans to beef up southern operations

Kaustav Das, formerly VP of Euro RSCG Chennai, has joined TBWA/India as VP-South, covering the agency's Cochin, Chennai and Bangalore offices. With this move, TBWA India is looking to expand across South with renewed enthusiasm.

Speaking to exchange4media, Das said, "South as a market presents tremendous opportunities. We are surely planning to expand on our existing list of clients. The Bangalore office is two and a half months old and we are on the move to strengthen its position."

The new VP also indicated that the workforce at the agency's southern offices will be ramped up. "As we add on to the client list, we surely would match that up with the workforce also. Chennai and Cochin are profitable centres and now we'll prioritise Bangalore to attain the same standards," he said. Das' earlier assignments have been with Saatchi & Saatchi (then Sistas), O&M, Lintas, Mudra and RK Swamy BBDO.

The agency is also looking to offer PR services from its Bangalore office shortly. While it is learnt that the agency is looking for people, the official comment from George John, CEO, TBWA India, was, "We are planning to set up our PR wing at Bangalore for our clients to provide them with a complete solution. PR will take another two and a half months to start functioning."

Following Kaustav's leaving Euro RSCG, Subramanian Hariharan, who moved into Euro ESCG four months ago, has been elevated as General Manager of the agency's Chennai operations. Subramanian has earlier worked with Rediffusion DYR, Chennai, with Bates in Mumbai and Bangalore, and with Contract in Mumbai. He joined Euro Chennai as Client Servicing Head.

Meanwhile, in MPG, the exit of Naresh and Sreekanth to start Starcom Chennai handling Hatsun Agro's account (as reported by exchange4media), has given rise to a new team, with Soumit Deb joining as planner from Lodestar Media. Euro RSCG is said to be actively scouting for new businesses in Chennai post these changes.
