There are some changes in the UTV Group. Divya Dixit who was appointed as AVP, Marketing, UTVi, in December 2007, has put in her papers. And Vivek Maholtra has joined UTV News as Vice-president, Marketing.
Maholtra moves from Star News where he was Head-Marketing Services. For about a year, he was actively involved in conceiving and implementing trade engagement and overseeing research function with insights for both editorial and revenue sides. After Yogesh Manwani’s exit, Malhotra was also responsible for other marketing related activities and support to special projects for the Star News brand.
Prior to Star News, Malhotra had spent about three years with the Network 18 group where he was instrumental in founding their intelligence unit, 'The Edge'. He also has experience in sales and customising client solutions apart from strategic planning.
Dixit was responsible for marketing in terms of above the line and below the line, tie-ups and alliances, promo planning, acquisitions and so on. During her short stint at UTVi, she used to report to Sumit Gupta, COO, UTVi.
Dixit is tight-lipped about her next assignment. All she said is, “There are a couple of offers in hand, but I am yet to decide where I will go.”
Prior to UTVi, Dixit was working with Sony Entertainment channel as AVP, Marketing. Dixit has 11 years of experience, of which nine were in retail. She has handled clients like Reliance, Planet Sports and Barista.
Speaking on the movements, Gupta said, “The opening numbers for UTVi, especially in Mumbai, have already established us as a strong force. With Vivek's joining, we look forward to a lot more action in forming viewer preference and brand loyalties and also evolution of innovative products for the media buyer."
