Viacom 18 elevates Jaideep Singh to National Sales Head of MTV

Jaideep Singh has been promoted at Viacom18 and will now be the National Sales Head at MTV. In his new role, Singh will be responsible for MTV’s sales revenues across all markets, in addition to the pan-regional sales for the brand. He will continue reporting to Aditya Swamy, Senior Vice-President - Marketing and Sales, MTV India.

“I will be handling two profiles, one would be essentially handling the revenue stream, which is the sales part of it, and second would be handling the business that is coming from international channels to India,” Singh said.

Commenting on the development, Aditya Swamy said, “Jaideep has been looking after north and east operations, and now he has been promoted to National Sales Head. He has done a lot of new stuff and introduced a lot of business models, and we expect to continue the same madness in 2010-11.”

Singh has been associated with Viacom18 for close to four years. Previously, he was Head - Sales for the north and east regions, at MTV. Before joining MTV, he had worked with Radio Mirchi, where he was instrumental in setting up the Mirchi Activation Division in Northern region.

Singh is an ex-Army Major of the Armoured Corp and had served at the Siachen Glacier and the Kargil War for nearly six years. His first civilian job was with JK Tyres in sales and marketing, where he worked with CII on an agri-services project. Commenting on his shift from the Army to the media industry, Singh said “It was not a well thought out plan to enter into media. It has been a gradual shift.”
