VF-Arvind Brands ropes in K K Pant as Managing Director

VF-Arvind Brands Pvt Ltd has appointed K K Pant as Managing Director. Pant, who is replacing Darshan Mehta who left the company in August this year, will take up his new assignment from November 21, 2007.

As Managing Director, Pant will be responsible for the company’s strategic direction, execution of its long-term growth plans and day-to-day operations. He will also be involved with talent development programmes, customer relations and Board management.

Pant has 20 years’ experience in the branded apparel and retailing businesses in India and overseas. He has served as Managing Director and CEO of Indus-League Clothing Ltd, a company that he co-founded; was a member of the team that started and grew the Madura Garments business in the ’90 s; was the first Brand Manger for Van Heusen during its launch and rollout in India; and had three-year stint in London with the Fashion Retail businesses of Coats Viyella Plc.

A graduate from IIT Chennai and IIM Kolkata, Pant has undertaken several management development programmes, including at the London School of Business.

VF Arvind Brands is a joint venture between VF Corporation and Arvind Mills, one of India’s first textile conglomerates that introduced the business of international branded apparel in the country.

VF Corporation is a leader in branded apparel, including jeanswear, sportswear, outdoor products and workwear. The principal brands include Lee, Wrangler, Riders, Rustler, Nautica, John Varvatos, JanSport, Eastpak, The North Face, Vans, Napapijri, Kipling, Lee Sport, Eagle Creek, lucy. Majestic Athletic and Red Kap.
