UTV’s V&S brings in Ali Imran and Rajesh Baruah to beef up top level

V&S Broadcasting, a subsidiary of UTV Global Broadcasting Ltd, has made two senior level appointments for three of its channels to be launched under the variety and specialty genre. Ali Imran has been roped in as VP, Marketing, while Rajesh Baruah has been brought in as AVP, Programming. Both will report into Dilshad Master, COO, V&S Broadcasting.

Shantonu Aditya, CEO, V&S Broadcasting, said, “Both Ali and Rajesh come with a spectrum of wide ranging experiences in their respective fields. Ali, having dealt with innumerable brands in his advertising avatar, will be an asset to our business, which is essentially the creation of specialty brands in television. Barua not only thinks content creation, but also thinks brand, and his invaluable experience across all forms of content creation will provide a unique perspective to our specialty channels’ business.”

Ali has been in advertising and marketing for over 16 years and joins the UTV group from Leo Burnett, where he was Executive Vice-President and Head of the Delhi branch. Prior to this, Ali had worked with Barista Coffee as Associate Vice-President, Marketing, and Lowe Lintas and Partners as Associate Vice-President, where he led the cross-functional teams of all the departments of the agency.

Barua has been in television programming and production for over 13 years. His previous assignments include National Geographic Channel, The History Channel, STAR TV, Channel [v] and Zee Network, where he has produced TV series, shows, stunts, short form programming, packaging elements, promos, channel IDs and music videos, among others.
