Rajesh Chakrabarti, the National Sales Head of UTV, has decided to call it a day. He had joined UTV in June last year. Though he did not divulge his next step, Chakrabarti confirmed the news saying, “Yes, I have decided to call it a day. I had a great time here and will keep you posted on my new assignment.”
At UTV, Chakrabarti was responsible for acquisitions and airtime sales for Doordarshan and Sun TV. He was also was responsible for content syndication of UTV and advertisement sales of Hungama TV.
Chakrabarti had joined UTV from Radio City, where he was the regional ad sales head, west and east. Before that, he was with Coface India, a credit insurance firm where he was the Country Deputy GM. Chakrabarti started his career with ORG Kolkata in 1994. He moved to Mumbai in 1995 to join Ananda Bazaar Patrika as group head. Then in 1999, he joined Modi Entertainment to handle operations of Buena Vista Television.
Chakrabarti is an alumnus of St Xavier’s College Kolkata and has completed his post-graduate in research methodology and economics from Kolkata University.
