Upen Roop Rai replaces Apurva Purohit at Zoom TV

With Apurva Purohit, COO, Television Division, Times Entertainment, deciding to move on, Zoom TV has decided to assign Upen Roop Rai the duties of managing the channel in addition to his current job responsibilities. He will be working closely with Arun Arora, President, Bennett, Coleman, & Co. Ltd., who continues to supervise the channel.

Confirming the development, Jyotirmoy Bose, Group Director, HR, BCCL, said, “Upen would be looking after the channel in coordination with Arun Arora. This is over and above what he is doing for the group in any case.”

Rai has been working with The Times Group in the capacity of Vice-President, Times Internet Ltd., and also as Business Head for the Integrated Marketing Solution Group (IMSG). His mandate is to look after Zoom TV in addition to these functions.

Purohit had been involved with Zoom TV ever since the inception of the channel and had played a key role in driving the penetration and the present content quality of the channel.
