TV18 strengthens top editorial team with promotions for Senthil Chengalvarayan & Udayan Mukherjee

TV18, a listed subsidiary of Network18, has strengthened its editorial leadership team, with new roles being assigned to senior editorial executives and founding team members of CNBC-TV18, Senthil Chengalvarayan and Udayan Mukherjee.

While Chengalvarayan has been elevated to President and Group Editorial Director, TV18 Business Media, Mukherjee takes charge as Managing Editor, CNBC-TV18.

Commenting on these promotions, Haresh Chawla, Group CEO, Network18, said “Senthil and Udayan have been instrumental in building what is today India’s most influential business news network. Senthil will now take on additional responsibilities of building on our strengths and taking the business media franchise to a leadership position across all verticals. Udayan, along with the terrific team we have at CNBC-TV18, will continue to make sure we deliver cutting edge news and insights to our viewers.”

In the last couple of years, TV18 has initiated a series of expansionary initiatives within the business and consumer space, extending its bouquet of offerings into the print and information services domain in addition to television and the Internet. TV18’s print foray was initiated with the acquisition of Infomedia, a key player in India’s B2B publishing and printing operations space, which operates special interest titles such as ‘Chip’, ‘Overdrive’, ‘T3’, etc.

Over the last decade, TV18 has been a defining influence in business media space in India, through its market leading offerings in the television (CNBC-TV18 and CNBC Awaaz) and the online (Web18) space.

TV18 also operates real time financial information and news terminal provider Newswire18.
