Following the recent appointment of Alok Verma as Managing Editor, Triveni Media has appointed Jaideep Goswami as Head of HR. Goswami has come in from TV Today Network, where he held the same position for a year and a half. He will be reporting to Rahul Kulshrestha, CEO, Triveni Media.
Commenting on his new appointment, Goswami said, “I take up this assignment as a challenge, because the company is still in its initial stages of finding ground. Earlier, I have worked with companies that have already had defined set-ups. The media industry, and especially its HR department, is not as established as it may be found in other sectors like service and manufacturing. So I can see massive scope for developing its HR.”
Goswami started his career at Citibank in Mumbai as a management trainee for six months, following which, he moved to Shalimar Paints where he spent two years. He then went on to become Deputy Manager-HR at ACC, and was there for five years. He spent his next five years at Jet Airways where he was handling the HR functions for North India as well as Kathmandu and London. He entered the media industry with the TV Today Network.
Goswami said that the initial aim would be to get a dedicated workforce and that the company had already taken the necessary measures for recruiting quite aggressively. He added that he would be instrumental in creating transparent systems and procedures, and thus aim to make Triveni Media one of the best employers in the country.
Meanwhile, Kulshrestha said that the group was planning to launch a national news channel soon and that the company was deciding on an appropriate region for its regional channel.
