A long gestation period can often be counter-productive on the manpower front. Triveni Media has lost two key senior hands even before the launch of its channels. Alok Verma, Group Managing Editor, has put in his papers after a 10-month stint. Iyer’s last day with the organisation is May 31, 2008. Subramanian Iyer, Executive Vice-President, Sales, has also put in his papers after a four-month tenure. Both Verma and Iyer are yet to decide on their next destination.
Triveni Media is a subsidiary of the Rs 3,000-crore real estate major Triveni Group.
“I have quit Triveni Media for better opportunities, but I am yet to decide on my next destination,” said Verma, who has been in journalism for 26 years, starting out in the print media. He forayed into television news when he joined Zee News in 1995. After a five-year stint, he joined STAR’s New Media, Convergence and Internet division as Editor. He then joined the TV Today Network in 2003, where as Executive Producer, he was in-charge of special projects and training for five years. He then moved to Triveni Media.
Confirming his resignation, Iyer said, “I am currently serving my notice period. There are a couple of opportunities in the market that I am considering. The reason I resigned is that the plans for the channel weren’t going the way I wanted them to.”
Before moving to Triveni Media, Iyer was National Head-Sales & Marketing with South India-based Raj TV for one and a half years. He has also worked as Assistant VP with ETC Network, and Associate VP-West & South, B4U, for two and a half years. Iyer has previously also worked with Zee TV, and the Hinduja Group’s CVO channel.
