Top level changes at India Today Group: New Editor for Business Today; elevation at India Today

Chaitanya Kalbag has been roped in as Editor of Business Today. Kalbag has been a journalist, editor, manager and publisher for over 35 years. In another development, Kaveree Bamzai has been promoted to Managing Editor of India Today. Prior to this, she was Executive Editor in the same publication.

Prior to joining Business Today, Kalbag was Publishing Director with LexisNexis India, where he was responsible for publishing most of India’s high value books in the legal, tax and regulatory fields.

Kalbag had also worked as Editor-in-Chief of Hindustan Times, where he was responsible for reinforcing professional standards and embedding strong standards of accountability and balance into local and national reportage. In February 2007, he won the Shiromani Award for excellence and leadership in his profession. Kalbag also had a six-year stint as Managing Editor of Reuters News across 35 Asian countries, stretching from Afghanistan to New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Kaveree Bamzai, who has been promoted to Managing Editor of India Today, is a graduate of the Delhi School of Economics. She had earlier worked with The Indian Express and The Times of India and writes extensively on entertainment and has written two books on cinema – ‘Bollywood Today’ and two monographs in a 10-part book set, ‘Women in Indian Film’ (Zubaan). She is also the film critique for Headlines Today.
