Times Television gets its sales team in place

With Times Television ready to roll with Zoom, the sales front for the channel is also crystallised. Responsibility of selling the product in the market is levied on Times Response, which makes Bhaskar Das, Director, Response, overall head of the Times Television sales. In this endeavour, he will be assisted by a core team that will work dedicatedly for Times Television.

Das supervises sales of Western region for all Times properties. He is also in charge of the all India ad sales as far as television and magazines are concerned. In his new role, he becomes more of a guide to the television sales team, which will be headed by M K Anand. Anand, the Deputy General Manager for Response, will administer the all India sales responsibilities of Times television.

The other senior members who form a part of the bastion sales team are Rashesh Gandhi, Ashit Kukiet, Vishal Bhatnagar and Sridhar Bhograju. While the team is in place, the allocation of specific responsibilities for the members is yet to be done.

Speaking about the team, Apurva Purohit, COO, Times television expresses, "In any organisation the biggest differentiator are the people. It is the team that separates the successes from the failures. For all our functions, whether it is content, marketing or distribution we have a rich team in place in terms of cultural backgrounds, experiences and aptitude."

"Now, the might of Times Response backing us in sales leverages the strength of our offering to the fullest," adds in Purohit, "These are best ad sales experts in the country and they will give Times television its required push."

However, selling broadcast space is a different ball game in comparison to print. How does Purohit view this? "Selling and negotiation skills don't differ in any media space. People from Times in other organisations have done well. What matters for the team is to have skills of detailing, planning, foresight and the right attitude. I think the present group boasts of all this and so constitutes to make a great sales team for Times television."
