Partho Dasgupta, former Vice-president and Business Head of Times Now, is all set to join the forthcoming vertical of the Future Group, Future Media, as CEO. He will assume office on November 1, 2006.
The new vertical from Future Group, formerly known as the Pantaloons Group, is the sixth vertical from the Group. Future Media would dabble in the out-of-home space, concentrating on creating experiences for consumers. The model is based on international formats and would be one of the areas of focus in times to come.
Dasgupta was associated with the Times Group for over seven years, where he was instrumental in managing the brand operations of The Economic Times, the business of Times Multimedia, and had started the ET Intelligence Group (the research arm of The Economic Times).
He has also been instrumental in conceiving the news channel and the business of Times Global Broadcasting Co Ltd. Prior to this, Dasgupta was working in the marketing and sales field with companies such as CRISIL, Union Carbide, Tetra Pak and Indal in various strategic domestic and international sales assignments.
