Dhiman Chattopadhyay, who has been with the Times Group as the Editor of Ahmedabad Times, Surat Times and Baroda Times, is joining ‘Man’s World’ as Deputy Editor. He will be joining the magazine from February 2007.
The magazine, whose Editor and Publisher N Radhakrishnan largely supervises all three of its publications (which includes ‘Simply Fry’ and ‘My World’), with Deputy Editor Murli Menon, has hired Chattopadhyay as a second Deputy Editor.
Commentin on his new assignment, Chattopadhyay said, “I think it is time for a new responsibility and new challenge. I have been with the Times Group for a long time, and Ahmedabad being essentially a small town, I feel I have done what I could.”
Radhakrishnan said, “We are looking forward to Chattopadhyay joining us. We do keep taking in a lot of senior people every now and then. Although the organisation is flat and does not follow any strong hierarchies, what I am expecting from him is a contribution towards all the sections equally, until he finds his place in a few where he can specialise.”
Recently, Senior Editor of ‘Man’s World’, Lalitha Iyer, had quit to join Hindustan Times. Radhakrishnan explained, “Although Chattopadhyay will be taking her place, I wouldn’t call it a replacement as he is joining at a much more senior position.”
