The Oberoi Group has appointed Prasanjeet Dutta Baruah as Vice President, Marketing. He will be responsible for leading the marketing portfolio with key priorities that include marketing strategy, advertising, digital marketing, research, customer value management and analytics.
With a career spanning over 14 years, Baruah brings with him a rich and varied experience in various marketing roles across sectors such as consumer durables, banking, retail and financial services. He joins The Oberoi Group from MetLife Insurance, where he headed the Brand, Research & Analytics and Digital Marketing role. During this time, he undertook extensive work in brand management, advertising, research, product trend development, product marketing, customer analytics and digital sales. Prior to this, Baruah headed the brand function at Max New York Life and has also worked with Shoppers Stop, where he was in charge of Marketing, Customer Insights, Customer loyalty and Customer Service.
The Oberoi Group, founded in 1934, operates 32 hotels and cruisers under the luxury ‘Oberoi’ and five star ‘Trident’ brands in India, Egypt, Mauritius, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. The Group is also engaged in flight catering, managing airport restaurants, travel and tour services, car rentals, project management and corporate air charters.
