Swayam Tiwari has joined Metropolitan Media as Head of Ad Sales. Metropolitan Media is a 50:50 joint venture between HT Media and the Times Group. Tiwari, who will be based in Delhi, will be reporting to Sameer Kapoor, CEO, Metropolitan Media. Prior to joining Metropolitan Media, Tiwari was with Radio City Delhi as its Corporate Sales Head.
Commenting on his new assignment, Tiwari said, “The reason I joined Metropolitan Media was it gives me an opportunity to work with a new experiment of two big brands coming together on a larger platform and opening up a new market in Delhi. Moreover, I wanted to move for better opportunities and enhance my career growth.”
It may be recalled that in October this year, The Times of India Group and HT Media Ltd had signed a memorandum of understanding to form a JV that would function as a standalone business to “publish a new and vibrant newspaper in Delhi, reflecting the changing needs of the reader and the emergence of Delhi as an international city”.
Tiwari began his career with The Times of India, where he was for seven years. He then moved to Dainik Bhaskar as Business Manager for four years. He has 12 years’ experience in sales and marketing.
