Surya Soni given new profile at Idea Cellular, to handle the VAS vertical segment

Surya Soni, Assistant General Manager, heading the marketing division for Idea Cellular’s Gujarat circle, has been given a new profile of AGM, national level for the VAS vertical segment. In this new role, he will be based in Mumbai and be responsible for driving media interactivity through press and radio.

Confirming the development, Soni said, “I have been entrusted with a new profile handling the VAS segment nationally. Here, along with driving the media interactivity through press and radio, my responsibility will also include to drive the VAS product penetration through retail.”

Soni was earlier associated with Zenith Optimedia for one and a half years as Business Director. Prior to that, he was with NIIT as Manager-Advertising Services and Research for two and a half years.

Soni had also worked in advertising agencies like McCann and HTA (now known as Mindshare). Some of the well-known brands that he has handled include Gillette, General Motors, Nestle and Swatch, among others.
