Supriya Sahu is new Joint Secretary, I&B Ministry

Supriya Sahu, a 1991 Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, has been made the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB). Prior to this, she has been Director – Broadcasting in MIB.

Sahu will be replacing Arvind Kumar, who has been appointed as the new CVO of National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) under the Ministry of Urban Development.

Sahu has earlier been the District Collector of Nilgiris district, where she was the force behind the ‘Say no to plastics’ campaign to protect the eco-system of the hill station Ooty.

Before that she was Additional Collector of Vellore district and Project Director, Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS).

The popular channel from the Viacom18 ‘s umbrella MTV Indies, which aired music by independent artistes, was replaced by MTV Beats, a 24x7 Hindi music channel in 2016
