Sunandan Choudhary, Executive Vice-president, Zenith Optimedia, has put in his papers. According to sources close to the development, his place is being taken by Satyajit Sen, MediaCom’s Vice-president. Sen is slated to join Zenith as Associate VP from September 16, 2006.
Neither Ambika Srivastava, CEO, Zenith Optimedia, nor Sen was available for comments at the time of filing the report.
Choudhary, when contacted by exchange4media, confirmed his resignation. However, he said he was yet to decide on his next port of call. He is currently serving his notice period at Zenith. Choudhary worked on the Nestle business for nine months at Zenith. Prior to that he was with Universal McCann for five years. As Senior VP there, he was heading the Nestle as well as the L’Oreal media accounts. He moved to Universal McCann from HTA (now JWT) after a seven-year stint, and was heading the Mumbai branch. Choudhary has also worked with Portland India as Country Head.
Sen has been heading the media planning and buying operations at MediaCom, the media arm of Grey Worldwide, since early 2000. In between, in 2002, he worked with Maximize, Delhi, as General Manager for a very short period. He rejoined MediaCom and has been there for the past four years. He began his career in 1990 with FCB-Ulka, Delhi, as Media Planning Executive. Thereafter, he worked at O&M, Delhi, and Rediffusion DY&R, Delhi, before settling down at Grey Worldwide.
