Sun TV Network Ltd has appointed Sanjay Reddy as Senior Vice President. He will be heading the Network’s Andhra Pradesh Television business comprising Gemini TV, Gemini Music, Gemini News, Teja TV, Navvulu TV and Kushi TV. Reddy, who took charge from August 24, will be reporting to Ajay Vidyasagar, COO, Sun TV Network. Reddy moves from Zee Network, where he was COO in-charge of Zee’s South Indian business.
Commenting on the appointment, Vidyasagar said, “We have a solid clutch of channels in Andhra, which includes strong leader brands like Gemini TV and Teja TV, and have the privilege of being pioneers in the news, music, comedy and kids space with Gemini News, Gemini Music, Navvulu TV and Kushi TV, respectively. We are very excited to have been able to bring in a seasoned professional like Sanjay into the Sun family and are expecting him to bring in a fresh new approach to our business in that market and also bring in some the best practices from the industry.”
On Reddy’s role in the organisation, Vidyasagar further said, “In addition to the above, Sanjay will be working with me on some network wide initiatives in the monetisation end of the business, using his extensive experience in the distribution and advertising sales. This appointment reflects Sun TV Network’s commitment to further expand its management and innovation capabilities at a key point in the Network’s evolution.”
Reddy brings with him a rich experience of 20 years in sales, distribution and general management in media and entertainment industries. In this span, he has been associated with some of the largest media firms in India like Walt Disney, Sony Entertainment, ESPN-STAR Sports, and Bennett Coleman & Co Ltd.
At Sun Network, his key focus will be to strategically manage the business in the Andhra Pradesh region, delivering strong viewership and advertising revenue growth, driving distribution focus in partnership with the central network team and to also bring in best practices into the organisation. He is a graduate in Commerce, also holds a double MBA from Pune University.
Sun TV Network Ltd operates 20 satellite television channels across four languages – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, and currently also has 42 FM radio stations across India.
