Sudipta Sen Gupta joins Nirula’s as Senior VP, Marketing and Sales

Nirula’s has recently appointed Sudipta Sen Gupta as Senior VP, Marketing and Sales. This new top-level appointment is in keeping with Nirula’s aggressive growth strategy to further expand across India. Sen Gupta’s previous stint was with Café Coffee Day, where she was for over five years as Senior General Manager.

“With Nirula’s growing at a fast pace, Sudipta’s experience and expertise in the industry will help establish the brand as a major national retail chain as well as help grow the Nirula’s packaged consumer products business. She will take control of all the marketing initiatives for the retail brand and head a team creating strategies to achieve its larger business objectives. She will also function as a company spokesperson for marketing and tactical communication,” said Samir Kuckreja, Managing Director, Nirula’s.

Sen Gupta said, “It feels great to be a part of Nirula’s, a deeply loved brand that is uniquely Indian as well as international, much like its customers! With rapid expansion as planned and a new look and extensive menu, I look forward to taking the brand to many more customers.”

During her tenure as Senior GM with Café Coffee Day, Sen Gupta contributed towards understanding the critical retail business, growing the brand and helping to grow consumer products sales and undertaking CRM, CSR and PR initiatives. As against an original figure of 14, the coffee chain had 370 cafes in three countries by the time Sen Gupta left to join the Nirula’s team.

She began her career with Coca-Cola India in 1996 where, as Associate Marketing Manager, she handled projects like Coca-Cola Sharjah Cup. Then as Marketing Manager at Compaq Computer India in 2000, she ran several successful media campaigns, including the tie-up with ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati Junior’.

Sen Gupta is an MBA from FMS, Delhi University, and is currently pursuing PhD at the All India Management Association on Retail Strategy. She has been a guest faculty at the IIM Lucknow and Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, NITIE Mumbai, Delhi School of Economics and several other institutes.
