Star India elevates Ravi Menon to Senior VP-Content

Star India has elevated Ravi Menon as Senior Vice President-Content. In his new role, Menon will oversee the programming strategy for Star Plus and the sister channel Star One with immediate effect. However, he will continue to hold overall charge of Vijay TV as well. Prior to his elevation, Menon was General Manager, Vijay TV.

With the entire ambit of programming functions under his wing, Menon will have recent appointee and Creative Head-Fictional Content, Vivek Behl reporting to him. Menon reports to Ajay Vidyasagar, President-Content and New Media, Star India.

Menon first joined Star India in 2004 as Programming Head for Star One, following which he was shifted to the regional channel Vijay TV as GM in February 2006. Menon had quit Sony to join Star in 2004.

Menon said, “I think it is a great responsibility at this point of time where Star is definitely looking forward to mobilising all the resources. As a brand, I think the equity is very strong and my job is to ensure that the brand is beyond people.”
