Sreenivasan Jain to be interim Managing Editor at NDTV Profit

As part of senior level changes at NDTV Profit, Sreenivasan Jain has been assigned the duties of Managing Editor of the business channel from the NDTV Group. Jain will replace John O’ Loan from June 1 onwards. Jain, popularly known as Vasu, has been with NDTV for 14 years.

In an internal announcement, O’ Loan was said to be retained as CEO of NDTV Profit till the end of May. With this, O’ Loan will revert to his role of an advisor to the Group and not to any particular channel. Jain will take over in June for an interim period of three months, during which he will only look after the programming of Profit and not NDTV 24x7.

Earlier, too, there had been several senior level changes at NDTV Profit. October 2009 saw Shivnath Thukral quitting from the post of Managing Editor, NDTV Profit to join Essar Group as President – Corporate Branding and Strategic Initiatives, while Sonal Sachdev had joined the Group as Executive Editor in September 2008. He was later promoted to Editor, Markets at NDTV Profit.

Thereafter, one more position for Executive Editor was implemented and the baton was then passed to Anjana Menon, who came from Mint in October 2008, and Saptarishi Sanyal, who joined the channel in June 2008 in the same role.

It would be interesting to see how Jain takes ahead the channel’s vision.
