Sport18 appoints its first sales head

Sport18, the sports marketing division of Network18 Media and Investments Ltd, has created a new position of Head of Sales.

Aaditya Pathak has been appointed Vice President-Sales, Sport18, reporting to CEO Satish Menon. Menon confirmed the development to exchange4media, stating, “Aaditya comes from very rich background in the sports domain, and we look forward to his contribution in growing Sport18 further.”

Prior to this, Menon was overseeing this function himself. Following the growth in the sports domain in India and in Sport18’s operations, the company has now decided to hire a dedicated sales head reporting to Menon.

Pathak comes from Discovery Networks India, where he had joined in August 2007, and was heading the Sales-West for all network channels of Discovery. He had a brief stint at ESPN Star Sports before that, where he had moved after a two-and-a-half year stint with Multi Screen Media. Pathak was earlier associated with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, working on Zee’s sports ventures.
