SpiceJet’s Anish Srikrishna joins Pearson as CMO

Anish Srikrishna has quit as Senior VP, Marketing, SpiceJet and is joining Pearson as Chief Marketing Officer. Pearson Education deals in integrated education publishing titles spread across a wide spectrum of subjects, including business, technology, sciences, law and the humanities, helping students and teachers alike.

In another high level movement, SpiceJet Ltd’s CEO, Sanjay Aggarwal, has also put in his papers nearly 20 months after moving in from the US to handle the responsibilities. The airline’s board member Kishore Gupta will serve as CEO and look after the operations until a replacement for Aggarwal is hired.

Srikrishna confirmed the development to exchange4media and said, “I have moved on to a larger role with better opportunities ahead.”

Srikrishna had joined SpiceJet in May 2009 as Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing. Prior to this, his stint at Samsung India Electronics Ltd lasted close to four and a half years. Starting out in 2000 as Marketing Manager on the IT peripherals business, he went on to head institutional sales, then durables marketing, before finally heading brand and media as part of IMG for Samsung’s three divisions – durables, mobile phones and IT.

Towards the end of 2004, Srikrishna moved on to become a retail entrepreneur. However, the partnership broke up and he returned to Delhi to join the Oberoi Group as VP, Marketing, where he worked for three years. He has over 16 years of experience in marketing and sales. He has also worked with Coca Cola India and Hindustan Unilever.
