: Soumitra Bhattacharyya quits MOMS to join Laqshya as CEO

After a stint of six years with MOMS, the outdoor unit of Madison Communications, Soumitra Bhattacharyya has resigned to join Laqshya Outdoors as CEO.

Commenting on the development, Alok Jalan, Managing Director, Laqshya Media, said, “It is indeed a pleasure to have Soumitra in our team. Currently, at Laqshya we are in an overdrive and rapid expansion and developments are happening simultaneously in India as well as the various countries where we have interests. In this scenario, we need professional people to help us achieve our short-term objectives as well as our long-term goals.”

Jalan added that he expected Bhattacharyya will add a lot of value to Laqshya “since we had already worked with him during our MOMS days. We believe he would settle in very quickly.”

It may be recalled that Jalan, co-founder and promoter of Madison Outdoor Media Services (MOMS), sometime back sold his 49 per cent stake to Madison Communications, following which Madison wholly owned MOMS. Jalan’s objective was to fully concentrate on his venture in Dubai, Right Angle Media FZ LLC.

Incidentally, Right Angle Media started out as a 100 per cent subsidiary of MOMS India, but Madison moved out of this venture. Right Angle Media is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Laqshya Media Pvt Ltd, a company jointly owned by Jalan and his brother.

Bhattacharyya is excited about his new assignment. He said, ”Firstly I would like to say that after spending six very educative years in the agency environment, it is great to move into another environment. Secondly, I am very excited and a little bit surprised to see such a lot of activity happening in Laqshya, that too in so many diverse markets. I envisage my role here to be a very challenging one which I am looking forward to.”

Laqshya Media has interests in India, UAE and Sri Lanka and more recently in Mauritius.
