Shyju Varkey named new Publisher of Mid-Day Bangalore

Shyju Varkey, National Marketing Head of Radio One, has been given additional responsibility of Publisher of Mid-Day Bangalore. Both Radio One and Mid-Day belong to Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd.

Talking about his role, Varkey said, “When we launched three years back, Radio One, Mid-Day and Midday.com were independent entities, but taking a leaf out of our experience in Pune, where these entities are combined and we have met with success there since our launch a year back, we have decided to emulate the same here. This helps us in offering our clients a combined bouquet of communications solutions and works well for us too in terms of reducing costs.”

He added, “For us, this move helps in enhancing our marketing idea which is vital. We will use the strengths of our mediums and leverage it for the advantage of our clients.”

Varkey had joined Radio One in 2006 from Ogilvy Bangalore, where he had spent close to 10 years.
