Shubhradeep Guha joins SapientNitro as Country Manager, India

SapientNitro announced that Shubhradeep Guha has taken over as its Country Manager, India, effective May 2012. Guha will lead the company’s marketing services business in India and will report to Bob Van Beber, Global Marketing Services Lead, SapientNitro.

Guha, also the Global Capability Lead of SapientNitro, replaces Ramswaroop Gopalan, who has moved on from Sapient to pursue personal endeavours. In his new role, Guha will focus on building capabilities across the marketing and digital space as well as engage with key global and Indian brands.

Rajdeep Endow, Managing Director, Sapient India said, “Clients in India are increasingly looking at business partners to provide best-fit solutions to create outstanding customer experiences. Shubhra with his deep capabilities and experience in communications and commerce across multiple channels is best positioned to help them with this.”

Alongside his duties as Country Manager, he will retain his current responsibilities and continue to be a part of SapientNitro’s European and Asian leadership teams. He was part of the team that shaped and built SapientNitro’s London studio. Some of the company’s acclaimed work there was done under his leadership.

SapientNitro has seen great recognition and growth in India. Most recently, it won Gold and Bronze Creative Abby awards at the GoaFest 2012 for its work for Absolut. As the worlds of marketing and technology increasingly converge, SapientNitro provides a differentiated value proposition for clients and a workplace culture unlike any other in the Indian marketplace, said an official release.

“I firmly believe that in the current context of mobile web usage leapfrogging fixed-line, PC and TV penetration in India all (even digital) agencies have a shelf life, and I have been working closely with our clients and global teams to realise the model for a new breed of agency at SapientNitro,” said Guha.
