NIIT has roped in Shraman Jha as Senior Vice President to head their Imperia business. Jha would be based in Delhi. He moves from ABP Group’s The Telegraph, where he was Vice-President. Jha had joined the ABP Group in mid-2006 as General Manager, The Telegraph.
NIIT Imperia Centre for Advanced Learning is a recent initiative from NIIT, which is designed to facilitate management education by means of virtual classes, especially for working people. The certification for these courses would be provided by IIMs and other top notch institutes. There are currently 22 NIIT Imperia centres, with more centres slated to come up in the future.
Commenting on his new assignment, Jha said, “I am excited to join a pioneer like NIIT at this juncture, which has established new benchmarks in capability building through the years. The Imperia business, in particular, promises to bring top quality management education to practitioners across the country, more than desired in a booming economy. To participate in its growth should be thrilling.”
Prior to the ABP Group, Jha had spent his entire professional life with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, where he had worked across diverse assignments in sales, brand management, business economics, corporate planning and market research. This also includes a four-year assignment with Unilever in Bangladesh.
An Honours graduate in Economics from Delhi’s St Stephen’s College, and a PGDM from IIM, Calcutta, Jha has an additional Masters degree in Economics from the University of Pune. He was a Chevening Gurukul Senior Scholar at the London School of Economics in 2007.
