Shraman Jha quits The Telegraph as Vice-President, to join NIIT

It is reliably learnt that Shraman Jha, Vice-President, The Telegraph, has put in his papers and is headed for NIIT. However, when contacted, Jha declined to comment on either his resignation or his new assignment. Jha’s exit follows a series of recent senior management resignations at the ABP Group, with the departure of Pramath Sinha as MD and CEO in August 2007.

While he will be with the ABP Group till the end of June, it is learnt that he is joining NIIT in Delhi to head one of their new ventures.

Jha had joined the ABP Group in mid-2006 as General Manager for The Telegraph. Prior to joining the Group, he had spent his entire professional career with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, where he had worked across diverse assignments in sales, brand management, business economics, corporate planning and market research. This also included a four-year assignment with Unilever in Bangladesh.

An Honours graduate in Economics from Delhi’s St Stephen’s College, and a PGDM from IIM, Calcutta, Jha has an additional Masters degree in Economics from the University of Pune. As recently as 2007 he has been a Chevening Gurukul Scholar at the London School of Economics.
