Shivkumar Menon quits Zoom to set up his own venture – ‘Speech Blurb’

Yet another senior industry personnel has left his cushy job to venture on his own despite the economic slowdown. Shivkumar Menon has put in his papers as Marketing Head at Zoom to set up his own brand consulting agency, called ‘Speech Blurb - the voice of your brand’. He has partnered with Razia Kunj and Vinod Kunj for this venture. Menon is currently serving his notice period at Zoom and would be released on January 31, 2009.

While Razia Kunj will be looking after the creative functions, Vinod Kunj will be looking after the creative strategies. Menon will be responsible for strategic planning and implementation.

Meanwhile, Kunal Mukherjee, who has been a member of the corporate team at Zoom, has been promoted as Marketing Head to replace Menon.

Commenting on the new venture, Menon said, “Communication has moved towards engagement and that’s what Speech Blurb’s objective is. We will look at engaging opportunity rather than exposing opportunity.”

Menon began his career in 1991 and has 18 years’ experience in the media industry, of which he spent two years with Zoom. He was also associated with the organisations like Contract, Unilever, Leo Burnett, etc.
