Shavon Barua joins JWT Delhi as Vice President and Client Services Director. Barua, a seasoned advertising professional, joins JWT from Euro RSCG, where she was heading the Reckitt business. Barua has worked on category brands like Colgate, Lakme, Parle-G and Dettol.
“We’re delighted to have Shavon on board. She is an initiator and a driver of business. Her rich experience across diverse product categories and great passion for the business will be an asset for JWT,” said Rohit Ohri, Managing Partner, JWT.
“JWT Delhi is arguably the most exciting place in advertising today. Adding to this is the fabulous brand portfolio that I will be working on. I am also keen to work on communication beyond the 30-second commercial and feel that JWT’s scale of operation will offer me enormous scope to do so,” said Barua.
In all, Barua has close to 12 years of experience in the field of advertising. She started her career in 1995 with Bates Enterprise in Kolkata, then Clarion, where she worked on the Gold Flake account. After this, she moved to SSC&B Lintas, Mumbai, and later to the agency’s Delhi branch, where she handled the Marico, Allwyn, IDB and Hero Honda accounts. Her next stint was with Rediffusion DY&R, where she looked after the team servicing Colgate-Palmolive. She was instrumental in the creation of the Colgate Gel ‘Talk to Me’ campaign. Barua was heading Dentsu Q-Pro, Dentsu’s employee branding communications venture, as General manager for a short while, before she joined Euro RSCG.
