Shariq Patel, VP – Operations, Radio One, has decided to move on from the Mid-Day owned station after a four-year stint. This is the second high profile exit from the station in the past few weeks after the departure of Rajesh Tahil as CEO.
Patel was not available for comment despite repeated attempts to contact him and his next destination is not known as of now.
Meanwhile, Radio One has confirmed this movement and the station is reportedly looking for a replacement. When contacted, Radio One sources also informed that Vishnu Athreya, VP Programming and Brand, would be taking charge of Patel’s portfolio. Incidentally, Radio One is yet to find a replacement for Tahil.
Patel had joined Radio Mid-Day four years ago as Station Head – Mumbai, Go FM. He was elevated to the present post 18 months ago and had been responsible for the rollout of stations in Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi. Previously he had worked with organisations like Airtel, Indya.com and Exim Bank.
