Sharat Jain puts in his papers at Dentsu Media as CEO, to set up own venture

Sharat Jain has put in his papers as CEO of Dentsu Communications’ media entity Dentsu Media after two-year stint. Dentsu Media controls group-wide media buying as well as acts as custodian of Dentsu’s proprietary media tools and database such as Valcon, ContactPoint Management, D-VAST, VextMiner and others, in India.

Confirming the news, Jain said, “I had a good time at Dentsu. I will be starting my own venture and will be revealing my plans shortly.”

Jain was earlier Managing Director (Asia South) at Canadian firm Teleglobe for seven years and was based in Delhi. Teleglobe is a provider of international voice, broadband, data and Internet services. His other previous assignments include a stint as Vice-President, India operations, with US-based Global TeleSystems Group for three years. He had also handled sales at IT Solutions in the areas of visual and OLTP computing, and occupied senior management positions at Tata Elxsi (India) Ltd for four years, besides International Computers Indian Manufacture Ltd, where he spent seven years.
