Sharang Sharma appointed Sahara One Motion Pictures Head, National Distribution

Sharang Sharma has joined Sahara One Motion Pictures as Head-Distribution from October 20. He will be looking after domestic distribution, international sales, acquisitions and syndication of movies both in India and the international market.

When contacted, Sharma said, “Sahara One Motion Pictures is one of the prolific production houses in India, it is a big profile, which will enable me to use my requisite experience in taking the organisation forward.”

Sharma will be reporting to Chief Operating Officer, Sahara One Motion Pictures, Sandeep Bhargava. Expressing his views on Sharma’s appointment, Bhargava said, “I am delighted to welcome Sharang to Sahara One Motion Pictures. He brings in rich experience of 13 years in sales and marketing, of which the last four years have been devoted to driving distribution of movies nationally. He has managed and developed vast distribution networks across India, and I am sure that he will handle the bigger role of providing impetus to four key aspects of our business – domestic distribution, international sales, acquisitions and syndication of content.”

Sharma was earlier associated with Sony Pictures Entertainment for a period of three-and-a-half years prior to joining Sahara One Motion Pictures. He had also worked as a National Distribution Manager at Sony and was managing and driving sales and distribution. He has also worked with Goodlass Nerolac Paints Ltd.

On the challenges ahead, Sharma said, “The challenge would be to acquire new products, help and ensure proper distribution, garner maximum revenue and bring quality content to the people.”
