Sharad Kumar quits Sun Network

Sharad Kumar, who was the Director of Gemini Television and who played a key role in the enormous success of the Sun Network’s Telugu channels Gemini TV and Teja TV among others in Andhra Pradesh, has left Sun Network to take a break for personal reasons. Sources from Sun Network have confirmed the development. There has been no replacement as of now and Sharad Kumar’s responsibilities are being overseen by Kalanithi Maran directly.

Sharad Kumar could not be reached for comment as he was undergoing medical treatment. The association between Maran and Kumar go a long way back in time. They have been close friends and batchmates of Don Bosco School, in Chennai. Over the past several years, Sharad Kumar’s aggression has seen Gemini TV and Teja TV gain solid ground in surpassing competition. Gemini and Udaya at par with each other form the second largest pie of the revenues that Sun Network garners. Gemini and Teja TV were the first to go pay amidst the entire network of channels as well.
