Shams Kabir has joined IB&W Delhi as Vice-President. He replaces Avijit Dutt, who put in his papers last month. Prior to joining IB&W Kabir was with RK Swamy BBDO Delhi as Media Director, where he was handling accounts like Ministry of Tourism, Blackberry, and Indian (formerly Indian Airlines). He was with RK Swamy BBDO for two years.
Commenting on his movement, Kabir said, “I changed my job because this is a far bigger opportunity and a good career jump. The agency is on a growth phase and I am ready to face new challenges and new business opportunities ahead.”
He further said that while his core area of strength lay in media (planning and buying) he had valuable experience in strategic brand building in various assignments. “At IB&W, I would be spearheading Delhi operations and would also be available to add substantial value in the media planning and buying processes along with Ravi Munjal in Mumbai.”
Kabir brings with him over 15 years’ experience having spent time with JWT, Lintas, Mindshare and RK Swamy BBDO. He began his career with JWT, where he spent nearly seven years. Kabir has earlier worked with Mindshare as Head of Media Buying on the Pepsi account for four years. He was also with Lintas as Group Media head for one and a half years.
