Shalini Dam, NCD, Grey India, has put in her papers. Dam was elevated to NCD in 2008, replacing Priti Nair then. Though no official confirmation was available at the time of filing the report, the buzz is that Ogilvy India’s Malvika Mehra and Amit Akali would replace Dam as NCD.
Prior to her elevation as NCD at Grey India, Dam was Executive Creative Director, South East Asia. She had been with Grey for with close to a decade and had taken over from Priti Nair when she quit as Grey Worldwide’s NCD. As National Creative Director, Dam was based out of Delhi.
As a young Creative Director with Grey, Dam had created the ‘Hungry Kya’ platform for Domino’s to launch pizzas in India; created an integrated idea for re-launch of Samsung durables – ‘Tumse Hai Zindagi’. Over the years, she has done communication that has accelerated brands across categories ranging from durables to FMCG. She has handled brands like Medimix, Revlon and Hindustan Times.
Dam had earlier worked with agencies like Contract, TBWA and Leo Burnett, where she had worked on brands like Coke, Thums Up, Limca, Airtel, NIIT, and Maruti.
Meanwhile, industry sources said that Ogilvy India’s Malvika Mehra and Amit Akali, who had recently put in their papers at the agency,were on their way to Grey India as National Creative Directors. The duo will be based out of Mumbai.
