Shailindra Kaul appointed Senior Creative Director at Bindass

Zoom TV’s Shailindra Kaul has been appointed as Senior Creative Director at Bindass, UTV-Astro’s youth entertainment and leisure brand. In his new role, Kaul will be responsible for creative services and on-air branding for Bindass. Brand Bindass will kickstart with a Hindi GEC, scheduled to launch in mid-2007.

Ramon Chibb, Vice President-Head of Content and Operations, Bindass, said, “We are happy to have Shailindra join our team. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience and commercial thinking, which will hugely benefit the creative development of brand Bindass.”

Commenting on his new role, Kaul said, “The zest and energy expressed by the Bindass team is highly infectious and I am looking forward to being part of this livewire, 360-degree entertainment brand.”

Kaul has 17 years’ experience in the media and entertainment industry. Prior to this appointment Kaul was associated with Zoom TV where he was responsible for the look and feel of the channel. His previous stint also includes working with Channel [v], where he produced the popular ‘Udham Singh Show’, the Channel [v] Music Awards for 1997 and 1998, and played a key role in conceptualising and creating ‘Essence of India series’.

Bindass, a 360-degree youth initiative, includes the entire gamut of entertainment: television channels, a mobile channel, three websites, creation of original games, merchandising, retail and nationwide ground events providing Indian youth with an array of choices. These include the launch of multiple channels across languages in India and Southeast Asia. UTV had earlier entered into a business co-operation arrangement with Astro to set up kids’ channels in Malaysia and Indonesia.
