Shailesh Rao quits Google; likely to head to Twitter as VP - Intl biz

Shailesh Rao, Managing Director, Media & Platforms – APAC, Google has resigned from the company. Google India has confirmed the development to exchange4media.

It is understood that Rao is likely to head to Twitter as Vice-President, International Business.

Replying to exchange4media’s query, a Google spokesperson said, “We thank Shailesh for his fantastic contributions to Google and Google India, in particular and wish him the best in his future endeavours."

Rao has been with Google since March 2005 growing in ranks to oversee Google business in Asia Pacific.

The development reiterates the focus that Twitter has been placing on the India market.
