Senior changes at MSM

 Multi Screen Media (MSM) is set to see senior management changes. Ajit Thakur, Business Head, Sony Entertainment Television is moving out of the channel for personal reasons. Thakur is expected to stay in the Sony operations, though in an international assignment.

Max’ Sr EVP and Business Head Sneha Rajani would be replacing Thakur. In the meanwhile, Neeraj Vyas, Head of Sales of Sony has been appointed EVP and Business Head, Max.

MSM officials have confirmed the development to exchange4media.

Ajit Thakur joined MSM in July 2009. Sony Entertainment Television was his entry to the broadcasting side of the business. In the time he spent at the channel, Sony had seen a positive growth in ratings and the launch of various programming initiatives including YRF Television.

Having graduated from IIM Lucknow, he had begun as a management trainee at Coca-Cola India. During his one year stint at Coca-Cola, he handled Sales and the launch of brands such as Sprite, Fanta and Maaza. Hereafter, he moved on to join Hindustan Unilever as a Brand Manager where he worked on brands such as Kwality Walls and later moved to New York where he worked on global a level on product, Dove.

Two and a half years at HUL later, he moved on to join UTV Television as Chief Operating Officer in 2007.

Sneha Rajani has been one of the oldest hands at the MSM family. Having spent a majority time at Max, first in the programming and acquisitions and later, as the Business Head of the channel, Rajani has led growth for Max. Under her watch, the channel has seen benchmark moments such as the acquisition of high performing property, 3 idiots and the iconic programming of IPL. Before she was brought into the MSM group in June 1999, she was Consultant Programming at iSKYB at Star India for a period of 2.5 years. Earlier to that, she had been Vice President, Programming at Asia Television Network (ATN) for a year, before which she was briefly the Chief Executive, Programming at Sri Adhikari Brothers.

Rajani is an ACCA, Certified Chartered Accountant from London, U.K. and begun her career route with international work experience as Head of Programming at TV Asia for about two years.

With effect to the new changes, Rajani continues to be reporting to N P Singh, COO MSM.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
