Satish Murthy, who joined Dentsu Communication, Bangalore in mid-January 2006, as reported by exchange4media earlier, has decided to move on. Murthy has decided to quit Dentsu primarily due to personal reasons. He will be joining Mumbai-based media buying agency, Prachaar Communications, as General Manager-Media from April 17.
Elaborating on the reasons for joining Prachaar Communications, Murthy said, “It’s quite an interesting proposition. It’s a good opportunity. I will get lot of independence. The faith that has been put on me along with the responsibilities that I will be shouldering is what excited me.”
Murthy will be reporting to the owners of the agency, Rajesh Jain and Rakesh Jain, and though he will be taking care of the planning aspects of all the clients, his specific responsibility would be to handle the Emami account.
Commenting on the brief stint that he’d had at Dentsu, Murthy said, “It was a good experience. I handled one of the prestigious clients, Toyota. It was a really short stint so one can’t really do great things.”
Prior to joining Dentsu Communication, Murthy was with MPG, Delhi as Associate VP for a year, where he had worked on brands like Reckitt Benckiser and Mother Diary. Murthy has also worked with agencies like Madison, Mudra, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Enterprise Nexus.
