After several stints with JWT in India, Sarajit Mitra has joined HSBC Bank, London, as Global Marketing Research Manager. "I have joined HSBC Bank from June 1," he said.
On the core responsibilities, Mitra said, "I am Global Marketing Research Manager for HSBC Bank-Corporate, Investment Banking and Markets based in London. I am setting up a comprehensive programme to track brand health, customer relationships and implementing the Balanced Scorecard for econometric modeling with the Bank's global clients."
Mitra left JWT India in 2001 to pursue management in the University of London and earned a distinction in international management. In the UK, he has been providing his consulting services on various insight projects in the financial service sector for JWT London and Prudential Insurance and Barclays Bank
He started his advertising career with JWT Kolkata in 1998 as an Account Executive on the Dunlop Tyres and ITC Wills Filter and Kwality Ice Cream accounts. He then moved to Delhi in 1992 to work on prestigious Hero Honda and Horlicks accounts. He worked as the Client Services Director on Ray-Ban, ESPN Star Sports and Reebok.
In 1994, Mitra joined Ogilvy to launch Seagram's scotch and blended whiskies but returned to JWT Delhi in a year.
In 1998, he took charge as Associate Vice President and Manager of the JWT Chandigarh Office and was instrumental in the development of the rebranding campaign of Spice Telecom-"Spice hai toh life hai".
