Innocean Worldwide, the in-house creative agency of Korea’s Hyundai Motor Corporation, has announced the appointment of Sandip Basu as Creative Director. He has replaced Mani Jayram, who moved to Euro RSCG sometime ago.
“I see Innocean as a place with immense potential for a creative person to do path-breaking work that can set new benchmarks, especially in art for exciting and buzzing categories of automobiles and mobile handsets,” said Basu.
According to Y K Choi, MD, Innocean, “The year 2007 is critical for our future. It will give us scale and a bigger playing field as we have geographical expansion plans lined up, apart from aggressive new business plans. The team under Joint MD Vivek Srivastava is making conscious efforts to add Indian and other MNC clients to our list. Talent like Sandip complements our team’s capability rather well.”
Commenting on Basu’s entry into the Innocean fold, Shubha Menon, ECD, Innocean, said, “Sandip is a gifted art director and coach. I have seen him, along with Saurabh Dasgupta, take my creative output, and that of other team-mates, to the logical next level of efficacy and aesthetics from where we began.”
Basu has close to 14 years of experience with agencies like Leo Burnett, Mudra, Arms and Hakuhodo, and Percept, and has worked on some leading brands like Yamaha, Pepsi Foods, Maruti Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Reliance Telecom, Nestle and Sony, among others. He has also had his share of fame, winning awards at Asian Power 2003, a Bronze at the New York Fest, and bagging the ‘Campaign of the Year 2006’ award for WagonR.
Innocean has been on a major manpower recruitment spree across disciplines to handle increased workload.
