Samar Halarnkar appointed Managing Editor of Hindustan Times

Samar Halarnkar has been elevated as Managing Editor of Hindustan Times. He replaces Pankaj Paul, who stepped down earlier this month to move back to the US. Halarnkar was HT’s Editor-Mumbai. The announcement was made in a circular on Friday afternoon.

Halarnkar had joined HT as Editor-National Investigations in Mumbai in May 2006.

Prior to joining HT, Halarnkar was Resident Editor of Indian Express. Before that he had worked with the India Today Group.
