Very recently Rediffusion DY&R was in the uncomfortable position of an agency with no creative heads following the resignation of K S Chakravarthy (Chax). However, not only has the agency filled the vacant position, but it has managed to get more than one would’ve expected. Rediffusion DY&R has appointed two Chief Creative Officers – O&M’s Creative Director Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar and Publicis Ambience’s NCD Ramanuj Shastry. The duo would be reporting to the agency’s President, Mahesh Chauhan.
Mahabaleshwarkar is expected to join by end-September, while Shastry will be joining in mid-October 2007. Chauhan said, “We believe it is humanly impossible for one creative head to handle all clients and do justice to them. Every client should get a share of the CCO’s time, which is why we have appointed two of the finest creative talents available in the country.”
He further said, “Sagar and Ramanuj have worked together in the past and they are two professionals who have defined the journey in their own ways. Their track records are enough to challenge the best in the industry, and one can only imagine how they can transform the creative product.”
For Chauhan, the move is taking the ‘Rediffusion DNA’ forward, which he explained as, “Rediffusion DY&R has always been recognising talent and investing in it. The excitement in our agency at present is palpable!”
He added that the ‘Dream Team’ for Rediffusion DY&R was now complete with this. Arvind Mohan is leading the strategic product as Chief Strategy Officer. Then there is Rupa Badrinath to train the Rediffusion DY&R teams. An excited Chauhan said, “The journey begins now.”
