Sabyasachi Ghosh quits ABP as VP, Bengali Magazines

Sabyasachi Ghosh has put in his papers as Vice President, Bengali Magazines at ABP Group. He will be with the group till the last week of October.

Meanwhile, as per industry sources, Madhumita Chattopadhyay, Advisor Bengali Magazines and Editor, Sananda, will replace Ghosh. She is overseeing the operations of Bengali magazines. Chattopadhyay had joined ABP as Brand Manager, Bengali Magazines, in 2001, working in various positions, including as Business Head, Bengali Magazines, from 2004-05, before taking up the additional responsibility of Editor of Sananda in late 2005.

Confirming the news to exchange4media, Ghosh said, “Yes, I have left the group, but haven’t decided on the next destination yet. I have plenty of options open.”

Commenting on his stint with ABP, he said, “It was a very nice journey. In my five-year stint with ABP, I have been the Ad Sales & National Revenue Head, Dailies for the ABP Group before taking over the Bengali magazines business and also launched many new platforms.”

Prior to joining the ABP Group, Ghosh was with MediaCom, Indonesia, as Managing Director. He began his career with The Times of India Group in Kolkata. He later joined HTA (now JWT) in their Kolkata office, and subsequently moved on to JWT, Colombo. Thereafter, he shifted base to Bangladesh as General Manager, Mindshare, and set up the agency’s operations there. He then moved to Vietnam as Managing Partner of Mindshare, Vietnam.
