The ABP Group has appointed Sabyasachi Ghosh as Vice-President Ad Sales for its dailies. He replaces Dinesh Jain, who had put in his papers in July 2007.
Confirming the appointment, D D Purkayastha, CEO, The ABP Group, said “Sabyasachi has a huge experience in media and will bring in a whole new perspective to the business.”
Commenting on his new assignment, Ghosh said, “It is great to be part of the Indian marketing and media space once more. The media industry here is evolving very fast and there is a major opportunity to learn and contribute handsomely.”
Ghosh further said, “Today, the ABP Group is an aggressive player across media platforms and content spaces. There is a huge audience involvement with our brands through our print, electronic and digital offerings. We are in the business of providing solutions to our advertisers and connecting their brands with their consumers. I am privileged to work alongside a great team, which is very passionate about this core philosophy.”
Prior to joining the ABP Group, Ghosh was with MediaCom, Indonesia, as Managing Director. He began his career with The Times of India Group in Kolkata. He later joined HTA (now JWT) in their Kolkata office, and subsequently moved on to JWT, Colombo. Thereafter, he shifted base to Bangladesh as General Manager, Mindshare, and set up the agency’s operations there. He then moved to Vietnam as Managing Partner of Mindshare, Vietnam.
