Abhishek Verma has joined SAB TV as Head of Marketing with additional responsibilities for research, scheduling and PR. He will be reporting to SAB TV Business Head, Anuj Kapoor. Verma’s previous stint was as VP-Client Services with SurfGold India Pvt Ltd, a relationship marketing and CRM consultancy headquartered in Singapore, where he spent two years.
Commenting on Verma’s appointment, Kapoor said, “Verma has 12 years of rich varied hardcore marketing experience. He is best suited for the role. We expect him to shape marketing objectives accurately.”
Said Verma, “SAB TV is fundamentally a great product and an opportunity for any marketing professional. I hope to use my experience working with various global brands to augment their marketing and communication efforts.”
At SurfGold, Verma had spearheaded loyalty marketing programmes for global brands like H-P, FedEx, Tommy Hilfiger, Microsoft, and Nortel Networks. He had built the team from scratch and was instrumental in growing critical accounts and enveloping capabilities.
Prior to SurfGold Verma was Marketing Manager with Discovery Channel for two years, where he was responsible for all marketing efforts for the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet brand. He has also worked with Vaishnavi PR Communications as PR Manager, where he spent one and a half years.
Verma began his career during the dotcom rush and was part of Microland’s Internet initiatives like ITspace.com and India Internet World, where he spent three years.
